has some choice words for Ariel Helwani.
During the February 17 episode of WWE SmackDown in Montreal, combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani made an appearance in front of his hometown crowd and cut a brief promo to hype up Elimination Chamber.
Following his appearance, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan took to Twitter to call Helwani a “fraud” and stated he was “as legitimate of a reporter” as AEW broadcaster Tony Schiavone.
Khan’s tweet likely stems from Helwani stating that interviewing Khan in October was one of the “most frustrating” interviews of his career. Helwani tried asking questions regarding CM Punk and the “Brawl Out” situation, but Khan declined to comment and elaborate when asked about those topics.
Helwani has since responded to Khan:
“Thanks for watching, old friend! Can’t wait for our next chat,” Helwani wrote. “(Also, don’t listen to the snowman, Schiavone. You’re a legend in my books.)”
Good luck with the unbiased journalism.
