SALMON, Idaho (CBS2) — An Idaho girl who went missing back in 1993 has been missing now for nearly 28 years.

Stephanie Crane of Challis was last seen at the Challis Lanes Bowling Alley on Oct. 11, 1993.

She hasn't been seen since.

About 300 people looked for Stephanie the following day along with Idaho State Police, the FBI, Idaho Fish and Game. Boat crews checked the river from Challis to Salmon but were unable to turn up any sign of Stephanie.

In 2018, Crane's story appeared on the Investigation Discovery Channel's "Disappeared" program.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office says after the show aired, deputies received some new leads to investigate. Stephanie's parents died from natural causes in 1997 and in 2012, both without knowing what happened to their daughter.

"Stephanie’s case is still open and will remain open until she is found," the sheriff's office said.

Anyone with information about Stephanie Crane is asked to call 208-879-2232.
