D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai is an Indigenous-Canadian actor who rose to fame for his role in "Reservation Dogs." However, after signing with an agency, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai has ventured into modeling and uses his platform to represent his Indigenous community.

While making a name for himself in the modeling industry, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai's girlfriend, Quannah Chasinghorse, was one of the first Indigenous models in the industry. D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai revealed that his girlfriends' attributes not only leave him in awe but that he learned much and is still learning from her.

Who Is D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai's Girlfriend?

Chasinghorse is a proud member of the Hän Gwich'in and Sičangu/Oglala Lakota tribes in America. She grew up loving fashion and recalled watching models on the runway. However, Chasinghorse revealed:

"Despite being into fashion since I was young, I never once thought that I could be a model... like most Indigenous teenagers, I grew up without any representation in pop culture. I didn't feel confident or even like the way I looked."

The model was 14 when her mother gave her daughter her first facial tattoo, a traditional hand poke tattoo called Yidįįłtoo, in a ceremony Indigenous people practice to signify coming of age. The lines on Chasinghorse's face are now the signature features that make her stand out from other models.

She was the first Indigenous model to work with Chanel, and over the years, Chasinghorse has added other luxury brands to her resume. Chasinghorse also made a statement in 2021 when she attended her first MET Gala—the highlight of the fashion season.

While walking the red carpet, the model represented her community while donning Native jewelry. "My people have always felt invisible, and so having this kind of visibility is so meaningful," Chasinghorse shared.

D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai and His Girlfriend Have Worked On Several Projects Together

Woon-A-Tai and Chasinghorse met in the fall of 2021 during New York Fashion Week after he signed with IMG Models, the same agency Chasinghorse is signed to. They soon went from friends to more, and by 2022, the Toronto native had relocated to Los Angeles to move in with Chasinghorse.

During an interview, Woon-A-Tai revealed that he learned a lot from Chasinghorse as he navigated the fashion industry and added:

"What I love about her is that she very much knows what she wants, and she has her values. For example, on every project she has been on, they cannot cover up her traditional tattoos. And she only works with companies that fit her values - like aren't terrible for the environment. It's cool to have someone like that to teach me, someone I love."

Since becoming a couple, Chasinghorse and Woon-A-Tai have not been shy about their romance. In May 2022, they starred as love interests in the "Haute Saison" music video by Rob and Jack Lahana featuring Gordon Tracks and Giorgio Poi. The music video was also Natalie Portman's directorial debut.

That same year, the couple worked with the United National Indian Tribal Youth Inc. to share a message about COVID-19, and, more recently, Chasinghorse and Woon-A-Tai were the faces of elegance as they posed in Ralph Lauren for Vogue's series on wardrobe must-haves.

Woon-A-Tai also shared that Chasinghorse has skills beyond modeling, as she knows how to hunt and skin animals, as well as how to bead and make shoes. "Very beautiful, beautiful soul," Woon-A-Tai sweetly said about Chasinghorse.
