An appeals court in the Czech Republic has upheld the “not guilty” verdict for Randy Blythe, the Lamb of God frontman who had been accused of causing a fan’s death at a 2010 concert.

Blythe was initially blamed for pushing Daniel Nosek, 19, from the stage during a show in the Czech capital, Prague. The man hit his head on the concrete floor and died from his injuries two weeks later. Blythe was charged with manslaughter, or causing bodily harm to another person with lethal consequences — charges he beat.

The singer, who faced five years in prison if convicted, had traveled to Prague to fight the charges. Prague’s Municipal court on March 5 handed down its ruling in favor of Blythe — a decision the artist announced on Instagram.

A relieved Blythe said this at the time: “It would be absolutely intolerable for me to hide from this situation. I am an innocent man, but a family suffers the loss of a son, a fan of my band. That is what this whole thing is truly about, not prison, not money, not politics, not ME — it is about a young man who lost his life at just 19 years of age. He will never come back, & it breaks my heart.”

The state prosecutor, however, appealed.

Prague’s High Court on Wednesday upheld that earlier verdict, the AP reports, quoting a spokesperson for the court. The High Court’s decision is final.

It’s business as usual for Blythe and his band, who’re currently on tour in the U.S. with a show Friday night at Madison, WI Orpheum Theatre.
