Ciara is not afraid to try new looks and hairstyles, and she proved it by debuting a pixie cut at the ACE Awards on Monday, just in time to receive the well-deserved Style Icon award. Although most fans loved the look, others made bets on it being a wig, and they werent wrong.

Ciara is not afraid to try new looks and hairstyles, and she proved it by debuting a pixie cut at the ACE Awards on Monday, just in time to receive the well-deserved Style Icon award. Although most fans loved the look, others made bets on it being a wig, and they weren’t wrong.

Ciara is a chameleon when it comes to fashion. She can rock whatever she wears and however she wears it, and that’s valid for clothes, makeup, and different hairstyles.

Last week, the mother of two left fans speechless when she stepped into the red carpet at the CFDA Awards rocking honey-blond dreadlocks, and always ready to shock, she revealed a drastic change on Monday when she took to Instagram to share a clip showing off a jet black pixie cut that enhanced her facial features.

“Chop it awf,” the “Level Up” singer captioned the clip.

FANS ARE NOT FALLING FOR IT

Fans were quick to rush to her comment section gushing about the new look.

“No way!!! That has to be a wig!! Either way, you are STUNNING!!” wrote one user.

Another added, “If Halle and Toni had a baby...” referring to Halle Berry and Toni Braxton, who had rocked the pixie cut before.

“Now Cici. You cute or whatever but stop lying to these people. You didn’t cut a dog on thang.”

ALL EYES ON CECE

Ciara didn’t reveal if she had cut her hair for real and instead proceeded to steal the spotlight at the Accessories Council Excellence Awards red carpet, wearing a crop top with feathers and sequins, high waisted pants with a train, and frilly sandals.

She completed the look with a few silver accessories and a classic makeup featuring black eyeliner and a bold red lip.

“Thank you Ace Awards for the Style Icon award. It was truly an honor,” she captioned an Instagram post with pics from the event.

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE LOOK

Although Ciara probably wanted to keep the mystery of her hair going for a while, her hairstylist César DeLeön Ramirêz confessed to TODAY that the look was possible, indeed, to a wig.

"Ciara and I love experimenting with different hairstyles. We believe in creating a complete fashion look for red carpets. She’s wanted to try a short pixie cut and, as a wig maker and co-founder of WildForm, I’m a firm believer of trying short cuts with wigs first before committing to the big chop," he stated.

The pixie wig was thought and created especially for the event, as Ciara’s long locks would have crashed with the crop top and train.

“We wanted to accentuate the shoulders and her face structure,” Ramirêz stated. “To be honest, my own haircut was partly an inspiration since Ciara loved my haircut so much.”

Although the ACE look was just an illusion, it wouldn’t be such a surprise if Ciara decided to cut her hair for real, and it wouldn’t be the first time she rocks a pixie either, as she already tried the look back in 2009.
