Jeff Hardy got a huge singles win against Bobby Fish to qualify for the Owen Hart Cup tournament on last night’s AEW Dynamite. After the match, The Young Bucks came out for a staredown. The two teased one of the most highly anticipated matches since Jeff Hardy joined his brother, Matt Hardy, in Tony Khan’s promotion.

The Bucks and Hardys have some history together. The Bucks are big fans of Jeff and Matt Hardy and were heavily influenced by them. What many fans consider a dream match has taken place several times before. The spotlight has never been as big, though.

The teams wrestled several times in 2014 at NEW and Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore. The highest-profile of their previous bouts came at ROH Supercard of Honor XI back in 2017. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the in-ring showdown on Dynamite was likely to set up a match at the upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas.

“I think Young Bucks and Hardys is on the Vegas pay-per-view. That’s going to be a loaded show. I think that there’s already like nine, ten matches if you look at everything that’s there between the two Owen Hart Cup finals and the title match that we already know of and things like that.”

Double or Nothing is looking like a massive event for Tony Khan’s company. CM Punk will challenge Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Championship. Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb will do battle for the women’s title. The Owen Hart tournament finals are also set for the show, and MJF and Wardlow will finally settle the score.

Tony Khan is swinging for the fences with Double or Nothing. It seems AEW is once again going to load their pay-per-view with several huge matchups. The Young Bucks and The Hardys will finally get their chance to do battle on a major national stage.
